Automatic Parking

One of the things I always enjoy when I sit down and watch science fiction movies is seeing the futuristic cars. This is one of those details where we can tell if the screenwriter or director have a flair for creativity and show imagination.

Think about it. What do you remember most about the Back to the Future trilogy? The simple answer is the souped up DeLorean that is outfitted with a flux capacitor to enable time travel. It also is capable of bringing in all four tires like landing gear and taking flight. Who needs roads with a car like that one.

Modern automotive technology is bringing us closer to science fiction each year. The latest step is found in the automatic parallel parking system Ford includes on some of its models like the Ford Escape. Ken Garff Ford, a top UT car dealer, can hook you up with one of these models.

This self-parking system operates through the vehicle's computer system. It helps the driver identify a parking spot on a crowded street and park without bumping or banging into other vehicles. A computer guided parking system delivered by the technology that Ford and other auto makers now feature makes it easy to squeeze your car into tight spaces. Fighting over parking spots is a thing of past. Parking lot vultures are destined to become an endangered and extinct species.

Self-parking is a revolutionary concept. There is nothing that is a bigger pain for drivers everywhere than trying to parallel park. I'm really hopeful the next step is flying cars.

I always wanted to pretend like I'm a pilot. A flying car would give me a chance to do it without the need to attend flight school. If there are flying cars, I can safely predict they will feature computer guided piloting. If a computer can park a car, why would it not be able to make it fly too?

It's common sense.

FIAT and Toyota Rap Wars

Everyone knows about the feud between east coast and west coast rappers. FIAT and Toyota have taken a piece of that action into the auto world.

Toyota is accusing FIAT of ripping off a 2010 ad it produced in a popular new video ad for the new FIAT 500L set to debut next spring. The FIAT video ad, titled “the Motherhood Feat,” offers an unvarnished look at what motherhood is really like. It features a weary mom rapping on everything from breast feeding to dirty diapers.

It has quickly gone viral and garnered more than 1 million views. The rap song is a huge hit, especially with young mothers who feel it speaks their language.

For Toyota, the only thing seen and heard here is ideas lifted from a “Swagger Wagon” song it released as part of an ad campaign two years ago. Saatchi & Saatchi, the ad agency that worked to create the Toyota ad, issued a tweet condemning FIAT for ripping off the “Swagger Wagon” video and sent out a link to the video for comparison.

So does this mean that we'll finally see a bonafide true rapper war between FIAT and Toyota now? Will executives for each auto maker represent with FIAT or Toyota logos tattooed on their bodies to gain street cred? Can you picture roving gangs of FIAT and Toyota drivers staking out their turf and competing for fresh recruits? Who will join Team FIAT or Team Toyota? Which team will turn into a horde of brain-eating zombies first? Will this escalate the collapse of modern society and unfold the latest Doomsday scenario across the globe?

Well, the world does have to end some way. The Mayan calendar apocalypse passed by like all the days that preceded it. Nostradamus is hit and miss at best on his predictions that his loyal followers have crafted centuries after his death.

An apocalyptic feud over a FIAT rap song may be what we all need to release all this pent-up end-of-the-world anxiety that's been building since before the Y2K bug turned out to be a dud.

If you choose Team FIAT over Team Toyota, you can find FIAT 500s in Tx at Holt FIAT. If you don't live in Texas, go there anyway. The Lone Star State offers plenty of weapons and resources to deal with those pesky auto rappers turned brain-eating zombie hordes. And the FIAT 500s also double as stylish escape vehicles.

Stealing Mistletoe Kisses Prank

This is an awesome video about some students at Brigham Young University that decide to steal some kisses using mistletoe. The ruse is that the pranksters have students answer questions on a questionnaire. At one point during the survey, the survey taker proceeds to ask the student if they're willing to kiss someone under the mistletoe, at which point a mistletoe is dropped from the ceiling and the person requests a kiss.

Here is the video below. It's cute ... yet awkward.

Creepy Conversation about Herpes

I am not sure who's creepier in this conversation about herpes -- the neighbor who listened and wrote the note, or the other neighbor who was so loud about such a sensitive subject.

Difference Between Welfare for Rich and Poor

I found this cool card on my Facebook timeline that I wanted to share. It's the difference between the rich and the poor when it comes to getting welfare from the government. When the rich get welfare (i.e., corporate welfare), they convince everyone that they've "earned" it. When the poor get welfare, they are called moochers.

NYU Email -- A "Reply All" Disaster

What happens when students at NYU figure out how to "Reply All" to the entire campus? Well, you get students pontificating over whether it would be better to fight 100 duck sized horses or one horse sized duck.

I would take the former. I am sure the duck sized horse would crush me.

Second Grader Has Crush on Teacher (Letter)

I found this on Reddit today, and I thought that I would share it. It's a second grader that has a crush on his teacher, and he sent her this letter.

I am just surprised that he was commenting on her boobs and butt as a second grader. It seems a little too adult there. Maybe something else is going on with him?

The Logic of Cartoons

The logic of cartoons?! Well, the summary is that cartoons have no logic. From taking showers under water (Sponge Bob) to being naked except at the beach (Tom and Jerry) to locking young girls in your castle and that being romantic (Beauty and the Beast), cartoons just don't make sense at a certain level.

So, on that note, enjoy the pictures below.

Mitt Romney Gangnam Style Parody

It's a little late, considering that Mitt Romney lost the election. But, here is a Mitt Romney Gangnam style parody.

The funny thing is that Mitt wouldn't be caught in a bath house like that; he wears the funny Mormon underwear also known as garments.

Thoughts?

Funny Scene -- Secret Diary of a Call Girl

I think that this is probably the dirtiest thing that I've ever put on my blog, and I really hesitated to put it on at first. I try to keep this PG-13 rated. But, this clip is AWESOME!

It's a scene from a British Show called "Secret Diary of a Call Girl". If the rest of the show is like this, I might need to start watching.

Enjoy, and let me know what you thought.

Storm Trooper Angst Over Missing C3PO and R2D2

As if we didn't have enough of these types of cartoons, here is yet another picture of a storm trooper having angst because of missing the droids from Star Wars.

The Black Cat Analogy

This is a cool pic of a black cat and how it relates to Philosophy, Metaphysics, Theology, and Science. Very funny!

My favorite is the theology example where the black cat isn't even in the room.

Breakdown of Walmart CEO's Pay -- Image

Here is a cool image that breaks down the obscene amount of compensation that Walmart's CEO receives each year. It's sobering to think that he makes millions while his workers have to use Medicaid to pay for doctor visits.

Just An Innocent Egg on a Plate -- Or Something More?

I found this picture on Reddit the other day, and I thought that it was good enough to share. Is this just an innocent egg on a plate, or is is something more?

As the OP pointed out, it kind of looks like sperm are surrounding the plate. Maybe the plate has gained sentience and is trying to reproduce with the innocent egg? Only time will tell, I guess.
