Jimmy Kimmel - I Gave My Kids a Terrible Present
I think that I should probably post this video before literally everyone on the freaking internet has seen it.
As a short description, it's a compilation video of viewer responses to a request from Jimmy Kimmel to post a video where parents pretended to give terrible presents to their kids for Christmas. Among other things, this included a half eaten sandwich.
If you want to see more, just check out the video.
I think that the reactions of the kids in the videos are priceless. It's funny, yet it's not super mean. And, kids are resilient -- stuff like this bounces off of them like water off a duck's back.

6000 children starve to death in India EVERY DAY
This is a particularly sad video that I found on Youtube. It's about the nearly 6000 kids that starve to death in India every single day of the year.
It's times like this that I have to reflect on how lucky I am. I could have been born into this life, but I wasn't.
Also, I think that it tells all of us that we need to do what we can to help our fellow human beings. If I could, I would help these people. I am doing my part by trying to advance science.

Cool Science: Blinky the Surgeonator's 5th Birthday
I found this cool video of a robot surgeon the other day that I wanted to share with my faithful readers. Here, we have "Blinky the Surgeonator" -- a robotic surgeon's assistant at Seattle Children's Hospital, in a video where Blinky celebrates its fifth birthday with other robots in the hospital. It might be kitschy, but it's definitely worth seeing.
Amateur movie making techniques aside, what impresses me about this video is just the advancement that has taken place in technology, particularly medical technology, in the past 10 years or so. It's amazing to me that we are now increasing relying on robots to assist us in surgeries too long, difficult, or delicate for human hands to do. I just wonder how long it will be before the robots take over most surgical duties completely. 50 years maybe? Maybe less?
Also, if you have the time, you should check out the Youtube page for the Seattle Children's Hospital. I am sure that they can use all of the support -- possibly via the Youtube Partners program -- that you can give them. Thanks.

Also, leave your comments on what you think the next job will be where humans are replaced by robots.

Children begging for food -- call to action
I found some very sad videos on Youtube of homeless children begging on the streets for food, and I thought that I would share them with the world so that more people would see them. Here is the first video of children begging in Indonesia:
One of the comments that I found the most regrettable about all of this is when someone from Indonesia said that, in essence, these children are born this way, they will live this way, and they will die this way with no opportunity for advancement.
Here is a second video, this time about children in India begging:
Here is another video from India, this time of children trying to sell crayon drawings to tourists:
If you want to help, the one place that I know you can donate and 100% of the money donated will go to help those in need is the humanitarian fund for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
