I found some pictures of Nafissatou Diallo, the accuser in the Dominique Strauss-Khan rape case from 2011. The photos are shown below (in addition to the one above):
As for my thoughts on the case, I am writing this post in the early part of July 2011. As it stands right now, it looks like the prosecution might be dropping the case Strauss-Kahn. However, whether the guy is guilty of rape or not is not the point of my post.
The point of my post is that I don't appreciate forced censorship from the media. If there is information out there on the internet, I want to have instant access to it, as long as the information is legal to have.
To find these pictures, I had to go to page two of the Google search results, and I still only got them then because someone had reblogged an article from a French media site.
Why is it that the accused (not convicted, mind you) in a rape case can have his or her entire life story splayed out in front of the media but we're not supposed to know the name of the accuser? Does that seem like equitable treatment to you?
To me it doesn't, hence the story.
